Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium head cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup Buffalo wing sauce (your favorite brand)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Optional: Ranch or blue cheese dressing for serving

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and pepper.
  2. Slowly whisk in the cold water until you have a smooth, thin batter.
  3. Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, letting excess drip off.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or brush with a little oil.
  5. Arrange the battered cauliflower in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do this in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  6. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping the florets halfway through, until golden brown and crisp.
  7. While the cauliflower cooks, whisk together the Buffalo sauce and melted butter in a small bowl.
  8. Once cooked, transfer the hot cauliflower to a large bowl. Pour the sauce mixture over the wings.
  9. Toss gently until all pieces are evenly coated.
  10. Return the sauced wings to the air fryer basket. Air fry for an additional 2-3 minutes to set the sauce.
  11. Serve immediately with your choice of dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, you can lightly spray the battered florets with oil before the first air fry cycle.
  • Noah found that chilling the batter for 15 minutes before use helps it adhere better to the cauliflower.
  • Adjust the amount of Buffalo sauce based on how saucy you prefer your wings.
