Make crispy salmon bites quickly in the air fryer and coat them with a spicy, creamy homemade Bang Bang Sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound salmon fillet, skin removed and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to your spice preference)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon cubes dry with paper towels. This helps them crisp up.
  2. In a medium bowl, toss the salmon cubes with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
  4. Place the seasoned salmon cubes in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd; cook in batches if necessary.
  5. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the salmon is cooked through and slightly crispy on the outside.
  6. While the salmon cooks, prepare the sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, lemon juice, and honey until smooth.
  7. Once the salmon bites are done, transfer them to a clean bowl.
  8. Pour about half of the Bang Bang Sauce over the hot salmon bites and gently toss to coat. Add more sauce if desired.
  9. Serve immediately with the remaining sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, you can lightly dust the seasoned salmon cubes with 1 tablespoon of cornstarch before air frying.
  • If you prefer a tangier sauce, add 1/2 teaspoon of rice vinegar to the sauce mixture.
  • You can serve these bites over rice or with a side salad for a complete meal.
