Ingredients
Scale
1.5 lbs ground turkey (85% or 93% lean)
1 large egg
1/4 cup breadcrumbs (Panko recommended)
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon olive oil (for brushing)
Instructions
In a large bowl, gently combine the ground turkey, egg, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix just until combined; do not overmix.
Divide the mixture into four equal portions. Form each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick. Press a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent bulging during cooking.
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes.
Lightly brush both sides of the turkey patties with olive oil to help with browning and moisture retention.
Place the patties in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not overlap. Work in batches if necessary.
Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 10 minutes.
Flip the burgers carefully. Continue to cook for another 4 to 6 minutes for medium-well, or until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part registers 165°F (74°C).
Remove the burgers from the air fryer and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving on buns with your preferred toppings.
Notes
For extra moisture, you can mix 1 tablespoon of grated onion into the meat mixture.
If you are cooking frozen turkey burgers, increase the initial cooking time by about 4 to 6 minutes at 375°F (190°C) and check the internal temperature frequently.
Do not crowd the air fryer basket; cooking in batches ensures the air circulates properly for even cooking.
