A delightful and festive fall cocktail, Apple Cider Sangria is perfect for autumn gatherings. This recipe combines crisp apple cider with wine and seasonal fruits, creating a spiced and refreshing drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) dry white wine (like Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc)
  • 4 cups apple cider
  • 1/4 cup brandy (optional)
  • 1 apple, thinly sliced
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 star anise
  • Ice cubes
  • Sparkling water or ginger ale (for serving, optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large pitcher, combine the white wine, apple cider, and brandy (if using).
  2. Add the sliced apple, sliced orange, cinnamon stick, and star anise to the pitcher.
  3. Stir gently to combine.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Before serving, remove the cinnamon stick and star anise.
  6. Pour the sangria into glasses filled with ice.
  7. If desired, top with a splash of sparkling water or ginger ale for extra fizz.

Notes

  • You can use red wine for a different flavor profile.
  • Add other fall fruits like pears or cranberries.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the wine and brandy and use more apple cider.
