Make tender, flaky salmon fillets in under 30 minutes with this simple honey garlic butter recipe, perfect for weeknight dinners or meal prep.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 lemon, sliced (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper until combined.
  4. Brush or spoon the honey garlic mixture evenly over the top of each salmon fillet.
  5. Place two thin lemon slices on top of each fillet, if desired.
  6. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  7. Remove from the oven and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For minimal cleanup, you can create individual foil packets for each fillet before baking.
  • If you prefer a slightly crispier topping, broil the salmon for the last 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  • This recipe works well for meal prepping; store cooled leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
