This Better Than Anything Cake is an ultra-indulgent chocolate poke cake. It’s soaked in a rich caramel sauce, topped with whipped cream, and finished with crushed candy. It’s a dessert that’s incredibly delicious and hard to resist.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package devil’s food cake mix
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce, plus more for drizzling
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1/2 cup chopped candy bars (like Heath or Skor)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Prepare the cake mix according to package directions. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  3. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  4. While the cake is still warm, poke holes all over the top using a fork or the handle of a wooden spoon.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, caramel sauce, and milk until well combined.
  6. Pour this mixture evenly over the warm cake, allowing it to soak into the holes. Let the cake cool completely in the pan.
  7. Once cooled, spread the thawed whipped topping evenly over the top of the cake.
  8. Sprinkle the chopped candy bars over the whipped topping.
  9. Drizzle with additional caramel sauce before serving.

Notes

  • You can use any chocolate cake mix you prefer, but devil’s food adds extra richness.
  • Ensure the cake is completely cool before adding the whipped topping to prevent it from melting.
  • Experiment with different types of candy bars for variations in flavor and texture.
  • For an extra decadent touch, you can add a layer of chocolate pudding before the whipped topping.
