Make pizzeria-style Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks at home. This recipe fixes common failures to deliver buttery, cheesy, addictive breadsticks perfect for any Italian meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (13.8 ounces) refrigerated pizza dough
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the pizza dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut the dough into 12 equal strips. Do not separate the strips.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and salt.
  5. Brush the entire surface of the dough strips evenly with the garlic butter mixture.
  6. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese and then the Parmesan cheese over the dough strips.
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven. Let cool for 2 minutes.
  9. Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving warm.

Notes

  • If you prefer a softer breadstick, lightly tent the pan with foil for the first 8 minutes of baking.
  • For extra garlic flavor, you can double the amount of minced garlic in the butter mixture.
  • Ensure your dough is at room temperature for easier handling before cutting.
