- 1 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- In a small saucepan, combine balsamic vinegar and brown sugar.
- Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until vinegar has reduced by half and coats the back of a spoon.
- Remove from heat. Stir in dark chocolate chips until melted and smooth.
- Add minced garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
- Let the glaze cool slightly before serving. It will thicken as it cools.
- Drizzle over your favorite grilled or pan-seared steak, or use as a glaze for ribs.
Notes
- For a smoother glaze, you can strain out the garlic after it has infused.
- Adjust sugar to your sweetness preference.
- If you don’t have dark chocolate chips, you can chop a dark chocolate bar.
