Create easy Churro Cheesecake Bars, a perfect mash-up of crispy churros and creamy cheesecake filling. This dessert brings festive flavor to any party. Ben fixed this recipe so you can serve it with confidence.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and 1/2 cup sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until just combined. Set the filling aside.
  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface. Do not separate the triangles. Press the seams to form one large rectangle.
  4. Transfer the dough to the prepared baking pan, pressing it gently into the bottom to form the crust.
  5. Pour the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough crust.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the remaining 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon together.
  7. Melt the butter. Brush the melted butter evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  8. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the buttered layer.
  9. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
  10. Let the bars cool completely in the pan before slicing. This prevents the filling from running.
  11. Cut into squares and serve your exceptional dessert.

Notes

  • For extra churro flavor, add 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon to the cream cheese filling.
  • Make sure the cream cheese is fully softened for a smooth, lump-free filling.
  • Allow the bars to cool fully; this step sets the cheesecake for clean slices.
