Ingredients
Scale
2 cups whole almonds
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
Spread the almonds in a single layer on a baking sheet.
Roast the almonds for 10 minutes.
In a small bowl, whisk together the sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
Remove the almonds from the oven. Drizzle the melted butter over the almonds and toss to coat them evenly.
Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the buttered almonds and toss again until they are well coated.
Spread the coated almonds back into a single layer on the baking sheet.
Return the baking sheet to the oven and roast for another 15-20 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes, until the sugar is caramelized and the almonds are toasted.
Remove from the oven and let them cool completely on the baking sheet. They will become crunchy as they cool.
Once cooled, break apart any clumps and store in an airtight container.
Notes
For extra crispiness, you can spread the cooled almonds on a wire rack for a few hours.
Feel free to adjust the cinnamon and sugar ratio to your preference.
These are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored for up to a week.
