Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups sliced peaches (about 8 medium), fresh or frozen (thawed)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of the granulated sugar, 1/4 cup of flour, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss gently to coat the peaches evenly.
  3. Pour the peach mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together 1 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Pour the milk and melted butter into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined. Do not overmix; the batter will be thick.
  6. Spoon dollops of the batter evenly over the peach mixture in the baking dish.
  7. Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbly.
  8. Let the cobbler cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • If using frozen peaches, ensure they are completely thawed and drained before using.
  • For an extra rich flavor, you can add a pinch of cardamom to the peach mixture.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for the best experience.
  • You can adjust the amount of sugar based on the sweetness of your peaches.
