1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
1 tablespoon sugar (or to taste)
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
1/4 cup hot brewed coffee or espresso
Whipped cream for topping (optional)
Extra sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice for topping (optional)
Instructions
In a small saucepan, combine milk, pumpkin puree, sugar, pumpkin pie spice, vanilla extract, and salt.
Heat the mixture over medium heat, whisking constantly, until it is hot and frothy. Do not boil.
Pour the hot coffee or espresso into a mug.
Pour the hot pumpkin mixture over the coffee.
Stir well to combine.
Top with whipped cream and an extra sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice, if desired.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use whole milk.
Adjust the sugar and spice levels to your preference.
If you don’t have pumpkin pie spice, you can make your own by combining cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves.
