- 1 can (15 ounces) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1 ripe avocado, pitted and peeled
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons water (or more, for desired consistency)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- Pinch of cumin (optional)
- Combine chickpeas, avocado, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, water, salt, and cumin (if using) in a food processor.
- Process until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.
- If the dip is too thick, add more water, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Serve immediately or chill for later.
Notes
- For a smoother dip, ensure your avocado is very ripe.
- Add a pinch of cayenne pepper for a little heat.
- Garnish with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of paprika before serving.
