You need this simple air fryer salmon recipe! Get perfectly crispy skin and a juicy, flaky interior every time. This garlic butter version is quick, healthy, and ready in under 15 minutes for an easy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon fillets very dry using paper towels. This step is key for achieving crispy skin.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and dried parsley. Sprinkle this seasoning mix evenly over all sides of the salmon fillets.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Lightly brush the salmon fillets with olive oil. Place the fillets in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not touch. If your fillets are thick, you may need to work in batches.
  5. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, depending on the thickness of your salmon, until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) and the salmon flakes easily.
  6. While the salmon cooks, prepare the garlic butter. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Stir well.
  7. Once the salmon is cooked, carefully remove the fillets from the air fryer.
  8. Brush the prepared garlic butter mixture generously over the top of each hot salmon fillet.
  9. Serve immediately for a delicious, healthy salmon air fryer dinner.

Notes

  • For extra crispy skin, place the salmon skin-side down first and cook for 6 minutes before flipping for the last 2-4 minutes, if your air fryer allows for easy flipping.
  • If you prefer a sweeter flavor, substitute 1 teaspoon of the garlic powder with 1 teaspoon of onion powder.
  • This recipe works well for low carb and keto diets when served without starchy sides.
