Ingredients
Scale
4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for a little heat)
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
Pat the salmon fillets completely dry using paper towels. This step helps you achieve better texture.
Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle them with olive oil and sprinkle evenly with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and regular paprika. Rub the seasonings into the fish gently.
In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, onion powder, and dried thyme to create the glaze.
Brush about two-thirds of the glaze mixture evenly over the top of each salmon fillet.
Bake the salmon for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillets, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork. You are aiming for moist and juicy fish.
Remove the salmon from the oven. Brush the remaining glaze over the hot fillets.
Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving immediately. Serve this perfect baked salmon with your favorite sides.
Notes
For crispy skin salmon, place the fillets skin-side down on a wire rack set over the baking sheet before baking.
If you prefer a sweeter glaze, increase the honey to 3 tablespoons.
This recipe works well for meal prep; cool completely before storing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
