- 6 thick slices brioche bread
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tablespoon butter, for cooking
- Whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt in a shallow dish until well combined.
- Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt half the butter.
- Dip each slice of brioche bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for about 15 to 20 seconds per side. Do not over-soak.
- Place the soaked bread onto the hot skillet. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Add remaining butter as needed between batches.
- Serve immediately with your preferred toppings.
Notes
- For a slightly festive touch, serve with fresh berries and a light dusting of powdered sugar.
- You can prepare the batter up to one day ahead and store it covered in the refrigerator.
- If you prefer a sweeter toast, add 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar to the egg mixture.
