You need this easy appetizer dip for your next gathering. This whipped feta dip is incredibly creamy, tangy, and comes together in just five minutes. It is the perfect party dip that vanishes quickly.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt (or sour cream)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, plus more for drizzling
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt (or to taste)
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Optional Topping: Honey or hot honey for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Place the crumbled feta cheese, softened cream cheese, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and minced garlic into the bowl of a food processor.
  2. Process the ingredients until the mixture begins to break down. Stop the machine and scrape down the sides.
  3. With the processor running, slowly stream in the 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Continue processing until the dip is completely smooth and airy, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Taste the whipped feta dip and add salt and pepper as needed. Remember that feta is salty, so taste first.
  5. Transfer the creamy feta dip to a shallow serving bowl. Use the back of a spoon to create swirls or a well in the center.
  6. Drizzle the top generously with olive oil and, if using, your favorite honey or hot honey.
  7. Serve immediately with warm pita bread, fresh vegetables, or crackers for an easy appetizer dip.

Notes

  • For a make ahead appetizer dip, prepare the dip up to 2 days in advance. Store it covered in the refrigerator and allow it to sit at room temperature for 20 minutes before serving to soften slightly.
  • If you do not have a food processor, you can use a high-powered blender, though you may need to stop and scrape down the sides more frequently.
  • To achieve a gourmet homemade dip look, garnish with chopped fresh herbs like dill or chives, or a sprinkle of toasted pistachios.
