Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 pound ground pork or chicken
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cups shredded coleslaw mix (cabbage and carrots)
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Heat sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground pork or chicken and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Add chopped onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger to the skillet. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, rice vinegar, sriracha (if using), and black pepper.
  5. Add the shredded coleslaw mix to the skillet. Toss to combine with the meat mixture.
  6. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender-crisp.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, use crumbled firm tofu or tempeh instead of meat.
  • Adjust sriracha for your preferred level of spice.
  • Serve immediately for the best texture.
