Make quick and flavorful shrimp coated in a rich butter sauce with crispy fried garlic pieces.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Pat the shrimp completely dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook, stirring often, until the garlic turns golden brown and crispy, about 3 to 4 minutes. Do not let it burn.
  3. Remove the crispy garlic pieces from the skillet using a slotted spoon and set them aside on a paper towel-lined plate. Leave the garlic-infused butter in the skillet.
  4. Increase the heat to medium-high. Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Do not overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if necessary.
  5. Pour the wine or broth into the skillet and let it bubble for 30 seconds, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.
  6. Reduce the heat to low. Stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and the lemon juice until the sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Return the cooked shrimp to the pan if you cooked in batches. Toss to coat everything in the sauce.
  8. Remove from heat. Stir in half of the chopped parsley.
  9. Serve immediately, topping the shrimp with the reserved crispy fried garlic and the remaining fresh parsley.

Notes

  • Use fresh, high-quality butter for the best flavor in the sauce.
  • Ensure your shrimp are fully thawed and dry before cooking to achieve a good sear.
  • For extra richness, finish the dish with a small pat of cold butter stirred in off the heat.
