A quick and flavorful one-pan recipe featuring tender chicken breasts coated in a rich, savory garlic butter sauce with crisp-tender broccoli florets.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 head broccoli, cut into florets
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream (optional, for creaminess)
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken pieces evenly with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Add the butter to the same skillet over medium heat. Once melted, add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Add the broccoli florets to the skillet. Pour in the chicken broth. Cover the skillet and let the broccoli steam for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  5. Stir in the Italian seasoning and heavy cream, if using. Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer.
  6. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Toss everything together to coat the chicken and broccoli evenly with the garlic butter sauce. Cook for 1 minute to heat through.
  7. Remove from heat. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a low-carb option, omit the heavy cream and use only broth.
  • If you prefer larger pieces of chicken, slice the breasts in half horizontally before cutting them into chunks.
  • You can substitute fresh lemon juice for a brighter flavor in the sauce.
