Quick and delicious garlic butter steak bites with mushrooms. Perfect for a fast weeknight meal or an impressive appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 8 ounces cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the steak cubes dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak bites in a single layer, working in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding. Sear for 1-2 minutes per side until browned. Remove steak from skillet and set aside.
  3. Add butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add the sliced mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened and browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the beef broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes to reduce slightly.
  6. Return the steak bites to the skillet. Toss to coat in the garlic butter sauce. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the steak is heated through.
  7. Stir in the fresh chopped parsley.
  8. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
  9. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For an extra kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic.
  • Serve with crusty bread for dipping, or over rice or pasta.
  • You can substitute sirloin with other tender cuts like ribeye or New York strip.
