Prepare a flavorful steak bowl quickly using a rich garlic butter sauce, perfect for a fast weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups cooked white rice (or cauliflower rice)
  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Season the steak cubes with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until browned on all sides. Remove steak from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Reduce heat to medium. Add butter and minced garlic to the same skillet. Cook for 1 minute until the garlic is fragrant.
  4. Stir in the dried thyme. Return the steak to the skillet and toss to coat with the garlic butter sauce. Cook for 1 minute more.
  5. While the steak cooks, toss the asparagus with a drizzle of olive oil, salt, and pepper. Roast in an oven or air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for 8 to 10 minutes until tender-crisp.
  6. Divide the cooked rice between two bowls. Top with the garlic butter steak and the roasted asparagus.
  7. Drizzle the remaining pan sauce and lemon juice over the bowls before serving.

Notes

  • For faster cooking, use pre-cooked rice or microwaveable rice pouches.
  • You can substitute broccoli florets for asparagus if preferred.
  • For extra richness, add 1 tablespoon of fresh parsley to the sauce at the end.
