Ingredients
Scale
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
8 ounces linguine or your favorite pasta
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
Cook pasta according to package directions. Reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
While pasta is cooking, heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet. Cook until fragrant, about 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Add the shrimp to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Do not overcook.
Pour in the white wine or chicken broth and lemon juice. Bring to a simmer and cook for 1-2 minutes, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
Stir in the fresh parsley and basil.
Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the shrimp and sauce. Toss to combine. If the sauce seems too thick, add a little of the reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.
Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
Serve immediately.
Notes
For an extra garlicky flavor, you can add more garlic.
Feel free to add other fresh herbs like chives or dill.
Serve with crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
