Make this easy baked chicken recipe for a creamy, cheesy, and flavorful weeknight chicken dinner that your family will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (if using breadcrumbs)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Pat the chicken breasts dry. Rub them with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Place the chicken in the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, and chicken broth until smooth. This creates your creamy garlic chicken sauce.
  4. Pour the sauce evenly over the chicken breasts.
  5. If using breadcrumbs, mix the breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the top of the sauce for a cheesy garlic parmesan chicken crust.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) and the sauce is bubbly.
  7. Let the oven baked chicken breasts rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a low carb chicken bake, skip the breadcrumbs.
  • This recipe works well as a one pan baked chicken meal.
  • This dish reheats well for easy leftovers.
