Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups marinara sauce (your favorite brand)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Drain well and set aside.
  3. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Do not let it brown.
  4. Pour in the marinara sauce, heavy cream, and chicken broth into the skillet. Stir to combine.
  5. Stir in the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer.
  6. Remove the sauce from the heat. Add the cooked spaghetti to the sauce and toss gently to coat every strand.
  7. Stir in 1 1/2 cups of the mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup of the Parmesan cheese into the pasta mixture.
  8. Spread the pasta mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  9. Top the pasta with the remaining 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese and the remaining 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese.
  10. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden brown.
  11. Let the bake rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For an extra flavor punch, use roasted garlic instead of fresh minced garlic.
  • If you prefer a tangier sauce, add a splash of white wine to the sauce mixture before adding the cream.
  • This recipe freezes well before baking. Cover tightly and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight before baking.
