A comforting and classic ground beef casserole, just like Grandma used to make. This easy recipe features savory ground beef, tender egg noodles, a rich tomato sauce, and a cheesy topping for a satisfying family meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 12 ounces egg noodles, cooked and drained
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Stir in the tomato sauce, cream of mushroom soup, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add the cooked egg noodles to the skillet and stir to combine with the beef mixture.
  5. Pour the mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese is melted and golden.
  8. Let it stand for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For an extra layer of flavor, you can add a pinch of dried Italian herbs to the sauce.
  • If you prefer a creamier sauce, use condensed cream of chicken soup instead of cream of mushroom.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
