Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 cups cooked egg noodles
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is tender. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
  4. Add the tomato sauce, cream of mushroom soup, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to the skillet. Stir to combine.
  5. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Gently fold in the cooked egg noodles.
  7. Pour the mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  8. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and bubbly and the cheese is melted and lightly golden.
  10. Let stand for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a creamier sauce, you can substitute the tomato sauce with an additional can of condensed cream of mushroom soup.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables like peas or corn for extra flavor and texture.
  • A sprinkle of paprika on top before baking adds a nice color.
