Follow these steps to make flavorful honey mustard glazed salmon on the grill. This recipe provides simple instructions for a sweet and tangy fish dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the grill for medium-high heat, about 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, honey, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to create the glaze.
  3. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
  4. Brush about half of the honey mustard glaze over the top and sides of the salmon fillets.
  5. Place the salmon fillets on the oiled grill grates, glaze-side up.
  6. Grill for 5 to 7 minutes per side, depending on thickness. Avoid moving the fish until it releases easily from the grate.
  7. During the last 2 minutes of cooking, brush the remaining glaze onto the fillets.
  8. The salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
  9. Remove from the grill and serve immediately.

Notes

  • If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.
  • For skin-on salmon, place the fish skin-side down first and cook most of the time on that side for easier handling.
  • If you prefer a thicker glaze, reduce the apple cider vinegar slightly or let the sauce sit for 10 minutes before brushing on.
