Ingredients
Scale
6 cups fresh peaches, sliced (about 6-8 medium peaches)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup flour, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss gently to coat.
Pour the peach mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Pour the melted butter evenly over the peach mixture.
In a separate medium bowl, whisk together 1 cup flour, 1/4 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Add the milk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
Drop spoonfuls of the biscuit batter over the peach mixture.
Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For an extra rich flavor, you can add a tablespoon of vanilla extract to the peach mixture.
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
If fresh peaches are not in season, you can use frozen peaches. Thaw them completely and drain excess liquid before using.
