Ingredients
Scale
1.5 lbs pork chops (about 4 chops)
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
2 tablespoons water (optional, for thickening)
Instructions
Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Sear the pork chops for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown.
While the chops are searing, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger in a small bowl.
Pour the honey-garlic mixture over the pork chops in the skillet.
Reduce heat to medium-low, cover the skillet, and let the chops simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until cooked through, basting occasionally with the sauce.
If you prefer a thicker sauce, whisk together cornstarch and water in a small bowl. Pour the mixture into the skillet during the last minute of cooking and stir until the sauce thickens.
Serve the pork chops immediately with the honey-garlic glaze spooned over the top.
Notes
For thicker pork chops, you may need to increase the simmering time.
Adjust the amount of honey and soy sauce to your taste preference.
Fresh ginger provides a brighter flavor, but ground ginger can be used in a pinch.
