Ingredients
Scale
2 slices fully-cooked ham steak (about 1/2 inch thick)
1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/4 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
Instructions
Pat the ham steaks dry with paper towels.
Melt the butter in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.
Place the ham steaks in the hot skillet. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side until the edges begin to brown slightly.
While the ham cooks, whisk together the honey, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar in a small bowl to create the glaze.
Reduce the heat to medium-low. Pour the glaze mixture evenly over the ham steaks in the skillet.
Cook for 1 to 2 minutes, spooning the glaze over the ham frequently, until the glaze thickens and coats the ham. Watch carefully to prevent the sugar from burning.
Remove the ham steaks from the skillet and serve immediately with the remaining pan glaze spooned over the top.
Notes
Use medium-low heat when adding the glaze to prevent the sugars from burning too quickly.
If your ham steaks are very thin, reduce the initial cooking time.
You can add a pinch of ground cloves or cinnamon to the glaze for extra spice.
