Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef or a mix of beef and pork
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup finely minced onion
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons Sriracha (adjust to your heat preference)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Let it soak for five minutes.
  3. Add the ground meat, egg, salt, pepper, onion, and soy sauce to the breadcrumb mixture. Gently mix everything until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Roll the mixture into uniform 1-inch meatballs. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake the meatballs for 15 to 18 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.
  6. While the meatballs bake, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan, whisk together the honey, Sriracha, rice vinegar, and minced garlic.
  7. Heat the sauce over medium heat, stirring constantly until it bubbles lightly and thickens slightly, about 3 minutes. Remove from the heat.
  8. Place the hot, cooked meatballs in a large bowl. Pour the honey sriracha sauce over the meatballs. Gently toss until every meatball is coated evenly.
  9. Serve immediately as an appetizer or over rice for dinner.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, use half ground beef and half ground pork.
  • If you prefer baking over frying, this recipe uses the oven for easier cleanup.
  • Reserve a small amount of sauce for drizzling on top before serving.
