Make a creamy, sweet iced latte at home using brown sugar and oat milk.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 shots espresso (or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup hot water
  • 1 cup oat milk
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Make the brown sugar syrup: Combine the brown sugar and hot water in a small bowl. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely. Let it cool slightly.
  2. Brew your espresso or strong coffee.
  3. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
  4. Pour the cooled brown sugar syrup over the ice.
  5. Pour the espresso or coffee over the syrup and ice.
  6. Top with the oat milk.
  7. Stir well before drinking.

Notes

  • If you do not have an espresso machine, use very strong cold brew concentrate or finely ground coffee steeped in a small amount of hot water for 5 minutes, then strained.
  • For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar instead of light brown sugar.
  • You can make a larger batch of the brown sugar syrup and store it in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
