Make a refreshing Iced Strawberry Lemon Tea at home using fresh strawberries, lemon, and black tea.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups water
  • 4 black tea bags (or 4 teaspoons loose leaf black tea)
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 3-4 lemons)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup cold water (for steeping adjustment)
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan.
  2. Remove the water from the heat and add the tea bags. Steep for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags.
  3. While the tea is steeping, combine the sliced strawberries and sugar in a small bowl. Gently mash the strawberries with a fork to release juices.
  4. Add the mashed strawberries and sugar mixture to the hot tea. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
  5. Let the tea mixture cool for 15 minutes.
  6. Strain the tea mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing lightly on the strawberries to extract liquid. Discard the solids.
  7. Stir in the fresh lemon juice and 1 cup of cold water.
  8. Taste the tea and add more sugar or lemon juice if needed for your preferred balance.
  9. Chill the tea in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  10. Serve over ice cubes. Garnish with fresh lemon slices and strawberry pieces if desired.

Notes

  • For a stronger strawberry flavor, simmer the strawberries with the sugar and 1/4 cup of water for 5 minutes before adding the hot tea.
  • You can substitute black tea with green tea or hibiscus tea for a different base flavor.
  • Adjust the amount of sugar based on the sweetness of your strawberries.
