Ingredients
Scale
1 pound thinly sliced beef (ribeye or sirloin)
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup chopped green onions
Cooked rice, for serving
Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper.
Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade and toss to coat evenly. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
Heat a lightly oiled skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
Add the marinated beef in a single layer, cooking in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the pan.
Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until the beef is browned and cooked through.
Serve the Bulgogi beef over cooked rice.
Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
Notes
For a more tender beef, ensure it is sliced very thinly against the grain.
Adjust the sweetness by adding a little more or less brown sugar to your preference.
You can add thinly sliced onions or mushrooms to the pan while cooking the beef.
