Transform your leftover Halloween candy into the ultimate post-Halloween treat with these decadent brownies. This recipe is perfect for families looking for a fun baking project to use up excess candy. You’ll mix your favorite chocolates and candies into a rich, fudgy brownie base.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped chocolate (milk, semi-sweet, or dark)
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped leftover Halloween candy (such as M&Ms, Snickers, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan, or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar. Stir until well combined.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in the chopped chocolate and chopped Halloween candy.
  7. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached.
  9. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • For an extra fudgy brownie, use a combination of different types of chocolate.
  • Chop the candy into smaller pieces to ensure even distribution throughout the brownies.
  • If your candy is very soft, you may want to freeze it for about 15 minutes before chopping to make it easier to handle.
  • You can add a sprinkle of sea salt on top before baking for a sweet and salty contrast.
