Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings, separated into drumettes and flats
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  2. Pat the chicken wings thoroughly dry with paper towels. This is key for crispy wings.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  4. Add the flour to the bowl and toss until the wings are evenly coated.
  5. Arrange the coated wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are not crowded.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, then flip the wings and bake for another 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. While the wings are baking, prepare the sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, lemon juice, lemon pepper seasoning, and paprika.
  8. Once the wings are cooked and crispy, transfer them to a large bowl.
  9. Pour the lemon pepper sauce over the wings and toss gently to coat.
  10. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For extra crispy wings, you can bake them directly on a wire rack set inside the baking sheet.
  • Adjust the amount of lemon pepper seasoning to your preference.
  • If you don’t have fresh lemon juice, you can use 1 tablespoon of bottled lemon juice.
