Ingredients
Scale
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
2 cups granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped pecans
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until well combined.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
Stir in the chopped pecans.
In a small bowl, combine the maple syrup and brown sugar.
Pour half of the blondie batter into the prepared baking pan.
Drizzle the maple syrup mixture over the batter.
Dollop the remaining blondie batter over the maple syrup mixture.
Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the maple mixture into the blondie batter.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
Notes
For an extra maple flavor, you can add a teaspoon of maple extract to the batter.
Ensure your pecans are fresh for the best flavor and crunch.
Do not overbake, as this can result in a dry blondie.
