Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and onion, cook until beef is browned and onion is softened. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Stir in garlic, crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and cook for at least 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, and milk. Mix until smooth.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti, the meat sauce, and the cream cheese mixture. Stir gently to coat the spaghetti evenly.
  6. Pour the spaghetti mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  7. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Let stand for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For an extra rich flavor, you can add a tablespoon of butter to the sauce.
  • Feel free to add your favorite vegetables to the sauce, such as chopped bell peppers or mushrooms.
  • If you prefer a milder flavor, omit the red pepper flakes.
