These Mummy Jalapeño Poppers are a fun and spooky appetizer perfect for your Halloween party. Easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 large jalapeño peppers
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped cooked bacon (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 (8-ounce) package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Small edible candy eyes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes. You can wear gloves to protect your hands.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped bacon (if using), garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  4. Spoon the cream cheese mixture evenly into the jalapeño halves.
  5. Unroll the crescent roll dough and press the seams together to form a solid rectangle. Cut the dough into thin strips, about 1/4 inch wide.
  6. Wrap the dough strips around the stuffed jalapeño halves to resemble mummy bandages. Leave a small space for the eyes.
  7. Place the wrapped jalapeños on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Brush the dough with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
  10. Once cooled slightly, press two candy eyes into the dough on each mummy popper.

Notes

  • For spicier poppers, leave some seeds in the jalapeños.
  • You can make the cream cheese filling ahead of time and refrigerate it.
  • Other cheese options include Monterey Jack or Pepper Jack.
