Ingredients
Scale
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
1/4 cup finely chopped pecans, plus more for coating
1/4 cup finely chopped candied cherries (optional)
1/4 cup crushed pineapple, well-drained
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth and creamy.
Stir in the chopped pecans, candied cherries (if using), crushed pineapple, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine all ingredients.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until firm enough to shape.
Once chilled, spoon the mixture onto a piece of plastic wrap. Shape it into a ball using your hands.
Spread additional chopped pecans onto a plate or shallow dish.
Gently roll the cheese ball in the chopped pecans to coat evenly.
Wrap the cheese ball tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Serve with your favorite crackers or pretzels.
Notes
For an extra festive touch, you can add a small maraschino cherry to the top of the cheese ball.
If you don’t have pecans, walnuts can be used as a substitute.
Ensure the pineapple is very well-drained to prevent the cheese ball from becoming too soft.
