Create a delicious Pizza Pot Pie at home. This recipe features your favorite pizza toppings and cheese baked under a golden crust in a bowl. It’s a fun, personal twist on pizza that flips out for a gooey, saucy surprise.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup your favorite pizza toppings (pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, etc.)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Cornmeal, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Lightly grease four oven-safe bowls with cooking spray or butter. Dust the insides with cornmeal.
  3. Divide the pizza dough into four equal portions.
  4. On a lightly floured surface, flatten each dough portion into a circle large enough to line the inside of a bowl, leaving some overhang.
  5. Press one dough circle into each prepared bowl, pressing it up the sides.
  6. Spoon 1/4 cup of pizza sauce into each bowl.
  7. Sprinkle 1/4 cup of mozzarella cheese over the sauce in each bowl.
  8. Add your favorite pizza toppings over the cheese.
  9. Place another piece of dough on top of the fillings in each bowl. Crimp the edges of the bottom dough and the top dough together to seal. Trim any excess dough.
  10. Brush the top of each pot pie with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  11. Place the bowls on a baking sheet.
  12. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  13. Let the pot pies cool in the bowls for a few minutes before carefully inverting them onto plates.

Notes

  • Ensure the bowls are oven-safe.
  • Don’t overfill the bowls to prevent spillage.
  • Allow a few minutes for cooling before inverting to prevent the filling from escaping.
