Ingredients
Scale
6 cups Chex cereal (Rice, Corn, or Chocolate)
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon red food coloring (optional)
1/4 teaspoon green food coloring (optional)
1/2 cup festive sprinkles (holiday colors and shapes)
Instructions
Pour 6 cups of Chex cereal into a large bowl.
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine butter, chocolate chips, and peanut butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and melted.
Stir in the vanilla extract. If using food coloring for a festive look, divide the mixture into two bowls and stir in red coloring into one and green into the other.
Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal. Gently stir until all the cereal pieces are evenly coated.
In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the powdered sugar and festive sprinkles.
Add the coated cereal to the bag. Seal the bag and shake gently until the cereal is well coated with powdered sugar and sprinkles.
Spread the Reindeer Chow on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to set.
Serve and enjoy your holiday treat!
Notes
For an extra festive touch, use a mix of different Chex cereal flavors.
Ensure the chocolate mixture is smooth before pouring over the cereal to prevent clumps.
Shake the bag gently to avoid breaking the cereal pieces.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
