Ingredients
Scale
1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easier cleanup.
Place the trimmed green beans on the prepared baking sheet.
Drizzle the green beans with olive oil. Add the minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Toss everything together until the beans are evenly coated.
Spread the green beans in a single layer on the baking sheet. Do not overcrowd the pan; use two sheets if necessary to ensure they roast instead of steam.
Roast for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the beans are tender and slightly browned at the edges.
Remove the beans from the oven. Immediately sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the hot beans and toss gently to coat.
If using, drizzle with lemon juice before serving.
Notes
For crispier beans, roast them at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for 12-15 minutes, checking frequently.
Add the Parmesan cheese after roasting so it melts slightly but does not burn.
This side dish pairs well with roasted chicken or grilled steak.
