Ingredients
Scale
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 medium pears (like Bosc or Anjou), peeled, cored, and sliced
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, flour, oats, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Stir until the mixture is crumbly.
In a separate bowl, gently toss the sliced pears with lemon juice, granulated sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
Spread the spiced pear mixture evenly in an 8×8 inch baking dish.
Crumble the oat topping evenly over the pears.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the pears are tender and bubbly.
Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.
You can add chopped pecans or walnuts to the oat topping for added crunch.
Ensure pears are ripe but firm to prevent them from becoming too mushy during baking.
