Ingredients
Scale
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 cup maple syrup
2 tablespoons hot sauce (like Sriracha or Frank’s RedHot)
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
12 mini waffles, toasted
Optional: Sliced green onions for garnish
Instructions
In a bowl, toss chicken pieces with flour, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper until evenly coated.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt the butter. Add the floured chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
While the chicken is cooking, whisk together maple syrup, hot sauce, and soy sauce in a small bowl.
Pour the maple sauce over the chicken in the skillet. Stir to coat.
Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and the chicken is cooked through.
Assemble the sliders by placing a few pieces of spicy maple chicken on each toasted mini waffle.
Garnish with sliced green onions, if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper and hot sauce to control the spice level.
You can use chicken breast if preferred, but thighs tend to stay more moist.
Ensure the mini waffles are sturdy enough to hold the chicken and sauce.
