Ingredients
Scale
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
Pinch of cayenne pepper
Salt and black pepper to taste
12 small corn or flour tortillas
1 cup shredded cabbage
Lime wedges for serving
For the Lime Crema:
1/2 cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon finely chopped cilantro
Pinch of salt
Instructions
In a medium bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned shrimp in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove from heat.
Prepare the Lime Crema: In a small bowl, whisk together the sour cream (or yogurt), lime juice, cilantro, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
Warm the tortillas according to package directions. You can heat them briefly in a dry skillet or microwave.
Assemble the tacos: Place a portion of cooked shrimp onto each warm tortilla. Top with shredded cabbage.
Drizzle generously with the prepared Lime Crema.
Serve immediately with fresh lime wedges on the side.
Notes
For extra heat, add a dash of your favorite hot sauce to the shrimp marinade.
If you prefer a tangier crema, increase the lime juice slightly.
Do not overcook the shrimp; they cook fast and become tough if left on the heat too long.
You can substitute cotija cheese for the cabbage if desired.
