A refreshing summer punch featuring fresh strawberries, basil, and citrus, perfect for parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (750ml) crisp white wine (like Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, plus more for garnish
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced, plus more for garnish
  • 1/2 cup brandy or triple sec
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup sparkling water or club soda, chilled

Instructions

  1. In a pitcher, combine the white wine, sugar, and basil leaves. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Add the sliced strawberries, brandy (or triple sec), lime juice, and lemon juice to the pitcher. Stir well.
  3. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
  4. Just before serving, add the chilled sparkling water or club soda to the pitcher and stir gently.
  5. Serve the sangria over ice, garnished with fresh basil leaves and extra strawberry slices.

Notes

  • For a sweeter sangria, add more sugar to taste.
  • Adjust the amount of citrus juice to your preference.
  • You can substitute other fresh herbs like mint for basil if desired.
