This is the one-pot pasta recipe you need for quick dinners and minimal cleanup. Follow these simple steps for a flavorful meal cooked entirely in a single pot.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound pasta (any shape)
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Place the pasta, broth, diced tomatoes, onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper into a large pot or Dutch oven.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Stir frequently to prevent the pasta from sticking to the bottom.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low. Continue to simmer, stirring often, until the pasta is cooked through and most of the liquid has been absorbed, about 12-15 minutes.
  4. Remove the pot from the heat. Stir in the heavy cream, if using, and the Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
  5. Serve immediately. Enjoy your easy cleanup!

Notes

  • You can add spinach or other quick-cooking vegetables during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
  • Adjust the amount of broth based on your desired sauce consistency. Less broth makes a thicker sauce.
  • Use vegetable broth for a vegetarian option.
