You need dinner fast? This 15-Minute Garlic Shrimp recipe is your weeknight savior. It delivers big, savory flavor with minimal effort. Follow these simple steps for a shrimp dish you will want to make again and again.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Do not overcrowd the pan; work in batches if necessary.
  4. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  5. Reduce heat to medium. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) to the same skillet. Cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Do not let the garlic burn.
  6. Pour in the white wine or broth. Scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Let the liquid simmer and reduce slightly for about 1 minute.
  7. Stir in the lemon juice.
  8. Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet. Toss quickly to coat in the sauce.
  9. Remove from heat. Stir in the fresh parsley.
  10. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Ensure your shrimp are completely thawed before starting for the fastest cooking time.
  • High heat is key to getting a good sear on the shrimp quickly.
  • This shrimp pairs well over rice, pasta, or simply with crusty bread for dipping.
